The Lasya Collection

This collection, named after the beautiful Tibetan goddess Laysa, features a sacred design drawn from ancient Buddhist symbols. When Laysa reined high above the Tibetan mountains, her incredible beauty would sparkle in the sun and send thousands of tiny diamonds spilling over the snowcapped peaks of Tibet. Laysa’s eternal grace and beauty inspired this collection, which is founded on the intertwining of two ancient Buddhist symbols: the Lotus and the Endless Knot. The Lotus flower is featured in several ancient myths and religions, symbolizing spiritual illumination, purity, serenity, and grace. The Endless Knot, with its intricate and unending cycle, represents the flowing of time and movement within the eternal.

Laysa, Goddess of Beauty

In the ancient days of gods and goddesses, Laysa lived at the top of the world, where the mountains touch the heavens. Thousands of shimmering snowflakes danced around her as she reined over Tibet, her incredible beauty shining in the morning sun and glowing in the silvery light of the moon. Laysa, known as the Goddess of Beauty, and could be seen sailing across the sky wearing ethereal gowns and exquisite jewelry. When she would gaze in the mirror, her reflected beauty would sparkle across the heavens and send thousands of tiny diamonds spilling across the snowcapped peaks of Tibet.

The Lotus Flower

The lotus grows in shallow, murky waters, with its roots firmly planted in the mud. Long stems reach up through the dense water to the surface. A fragrant bloom floats delicately on the water, unfurling its petals in the morning sun and folding them in the evening.

Buddhist scriptures liken the sacred blossom of the lotus to the divine souls that dwell within us. While we are bound by our earthly needs, our souls always reach skyward to the eternal and divine light. The lotus flower is also one of the eight auspicious signs of Buddhism—a lotus with eight petals is used in Buddhist mandalas portraying the cosmic harmony, while a flower of thousand petals symbolizes spiritual illumination.

In Egyptian mythology, the lotus is associated with the sun because it blooms by day and closes by night. It was believed that the lotus flower had given birth to the sun.

The lotus is also an important element in Hindu-Vedic literature, as it symbolizes purity, beauty, majesty, grace, fertility, wealth, richness, knowledge, and serenity.

The Endless Knot

The Endless Knot flows and intertwines around itself in an intricate, eternal cycle. Formed by a series of symmetrical knots, this symbol represents the weaving of our spiritual path, and the flowing of time and movement within the eternal.

Based on the Buddhist philosophy that everything in the universe is connected and related, it is believed that this powerful, ancient symbol represents our entire existence, defined by time and change, yet ultimately serene within the eternal. This never-ending cycle of cause and effect in our lives is called samsara, and is reflected in the loops of the Endless Knot. When the Eternal Knot is given as a gift, a profound relationship of eternal love, friendship, and compassion is established between the recipient and the giver.
